My Work is Shifting – Exciting News!

I have so much exciting news to share with you all! Much of it is still in the works so I can only share so much at this time, but read on for what I can tell you.

I’m into my practicum for my Somatic Reconditioning Practitioner’s Certification as well as finishing up some business classes. I’m really seeing how my current work and this new layer of education is going to blend together to offer powerful transformation. With that said, the way that I offer this work is going to be changing alongside it. None of the types of work I offer are one-and-done offerings. They’re designed to be done consistently over a period of time to support the guest in learning how to access a felt sense of safety in their own bodies, how to resource within themselves and ultimately how to not need me anymore!

Think of it this way, if you’ve had an ongoing challenge and you go to a counselor, would you expect to see them for one session and be “healed”? No! Of course not!

Now, I do want to honor that rarely have I ever had a client stop coming after only 1-2 sessions. I know that you all know that this work is effectively done over a period of time. However, with adding in the somatic inquiry piece it no longer feels aligned in integrity to do this work in one-off sessions. I need more time with a client, and no pressure of the timing on either of us, to be able to do the somatic inquiry work safely and effectively.

Is one session in somatic inquiry safe? Yes, of course if it’s done correctly — slowly with no pressure and adequate resourcing. However, is it going to give you the actual tangible shifts and real life results you’re desiring? Probably not in one shot. I have experienced it where there is a massive cathartic release in one session, however, the safety was already built.

This work takes time, safety, trust and titration. It is not meant to be done fast and, with transparency and integrity, I don’t want to risk retraumatizing someone or leaving them unable to integrate the process between sessions.

I know that working in a longer container isn’t going to be for everybody, and that’s okay. The safety and integrity of my guests, myself and this work has to come first.

As of now, my intention is to finish my practicum and honor the waitlist that is already existing for single sessions while I continue to come up with a plan behind the scenes for how to best move forward that honors everyone. Anyone who joins my waitlist now, will be added to the waitlist for a longer container of 1:1 sessions as these packages become available. (I’m working on some added perks for between sessions as well, that will be part of this larger offering!)

And… I have something up my sleeve for more accessible, continued access as well. This one is going to require me to hire at least one staff member/assistant though to manage it, so stay tuned.

With all of that said, you may begin to see changes coming to this space and my website over the next 6-12 months. I hope you’ll come along for the ride!

About Denise Elysa

Denise Elysa is a practitioner and teacher of multiple modalities including somatic inquiry, intuitive energy healing, past life regression, oracle card reading and meditation. Blending somatic inquiry, somatic parts work, nervous-system informed education, intuition and grounded spirituality, she helps people who feel disconnected or chronically unwell reconnect with themselves, increase their capacity and awaken their inner healer, without requiring medical validation or overwhelming routines.

While Denise works with guests of all different lifestyles, needs and backgrounds, she holds a special place in her heart for those living with complex chronic diseases such as ME/CFS, MCAS, Fibromyalgia, POTS, hEDS, Lyme disease and co-infections, as well as other coexisting conditions. After years of navigating her own recovery through over 30 different medical diagnoses, she is living out what she considers to be her life's work by supporting others in the same methods that got her out of a wheelchair and a life filled with anxiety, depression and disconnection, and back to herself. She does this through her online community - EmbodiedSoul with Denise Elysa, her 1:1 sessions - particularly her Bridge to Embodiment Program, and through her podcast - Coming Home to Ourselves with Denise Elysa. Additionally, she is contracted to two of the Internal Medicine Specialists at the BC-CLMF to co-facilitate group sessions for their patients.
