There’s something about this month’s New Moon energy that feels like a quiet beginning, not loud or rushed, but gently unfolding beneath the surface. The Aries New Moon invites you into a new chapter, not by pushing you to become someone new, but by guiding you back to yourself. It’s inviting you into a softer kind of beginning, one that starts within your body, your truth, your timing. This isn’t about rushing into a new version of yourself. It’s a chance to pause, to listen, to feel what’s ready to shift. And maybe to take one small, courageous step toward the version of you that already exists beneath it all.
New Moon in Aries 2026: A Fresh Start in the Astrological New Year
The 2026 New Moon in Aries arrives on April 17th. You’ll know by now that I gently consider the Spring Equinox to be the energetic new year that aligns most for myself and my teachings, however, Aries is the first zodiac sign in western astrology and therefore, the Aries New Moon is considered to be the start of a new astrological year. When we work with multiple layers of seasonal and New Moon energy, there are many opportunities throughout the year for new beginnings. It’s never too late to revise, reset or recalibrate.
Returning to Your Authentic Self Through Cycles of Change
The only constant is change and we are always becoming someone new; hopefully, a “new” that is more like a “return”. Continuously coming home to ourselves in deeper and more authentic ways, returning to the core of who we were before societal conditioning, self-limiting beliefs, ancestral wounds and inherited trauma began to take the lead through our nervous system states and our subconscious minds.
This Aries New Moon brings themes of restarting, revisiting, new beginnings, transformation in communication, determination and fresh, strategic action. The action that is inspired and supported by the current energetics is not hectic or quick to fade, it is the type of action that comes from courage, planning, intention and persistence in building sturdy foundations that will support long term growth and sustainability.
Aries New Moon Themes: Courage, Intuition & Strategic Action
Intuition and clarity may be strengthened at this time, and you may notice that you’re able to confidently lean into your own intuitive discernment and those quiet nudges that you know, deep down, is your intuition talking to you. I recommend creating extra space in your life to connect with New Moon rituals, tune into your Higher Self and your connection to Source or Divine Universal Energy and connect with any messages that have been waiting for you to make space to hear them.
Developing Intuition in a Way That Supports Your Real Life
If you have not yet developed your intuition this would be a good time to begin practicing or to source a teacher or practitioner to guide you. There are many ways to develop your knowledge and intuitive abilities, so focus on finding the teacher or method that feels most aligned for you and for the life you’re living. I am a strong believer that practices of intuitive development, somatic healing or energy healing should work into the life you’re actually living. For example, if you have young kids plus a full-time job, and maybe an extra caregiving role or a family with support needs, learning intuitive development or other healing practices that require a lot of time or complex routines is not going to be sustainable for your life.
Nervous System Capacity, Sustainability & Spiritual Growth
These practices are meant to expand your nervous system capacity, create greater nervous system flexibility, and help you feel safe in your body, not create additional barriers and burdens in an already challenging life. This isn’t to say that the initial process of learning these tools or diving deeper into nervous system healing work doesn’t require some spoons (ie., the spoon theory), otherwise known as your energy envelope or capacity, however, done safely and well with the right practitioner they are meant to become the foundation that supports you when life becomes unbearable or destabilizing, because lets face it, sometimes life has a way of doing that.
Through connecting deeper with yourself during this Aries New Moon on April 17th, 2026, (or within the three days on either side of it) you may find yourself intuitively guided towards courageous decisions and bold action that you previously would have hesitated on.
Embodied Manifestation: What Happens in Your Body When You Set Intentions?
If you were living in perfect alignment with your highest and best self, and were not held back by the barriers and fears of the human experience you may be living with, what would your biggest dream, wish, goal or intention be right now?
Connect inward and set that intention now. What do you notice in your body and nervous system as you do this?
Do you expand or contract?
What pops into your mind as immediate reasons for why this goal isn’t possible for you, or of what would be in your way?
What sensations do you notice in your body?
Do you feel anchored and grounded, connected to the lower half of your body, or do you feel as though you’re almost floating?
Beyond Affirmations: Nervous System & Subconscious Healing in Manifestation
You may have read some of my past writing about how manifestation is about more than affirmations and energetics. Yes, energy is a big piece, as is releasing, forgiveness, letting go and making space for the new to land with gratitude. However, ancestral healing, past life healing, subconscious programming and nervous system healing all play a significant role in successful manifestation as well. How safe we feel to receive and whether our nervous system has the flexibility, resiliency and capacity to hold and maintain what we’re calling in is an important factor in embodied manifestation techniques.
Trauma-Informed, Titrated Healing for Sustainable Change
There are many layers and this type of healing work needs to be done slowly, safely and in a titrated way that is nervous system informed as well as trauma informed. Too much too quickly risks flooding the system and creating greater setbacks and an increase in symptoms, especially for the more vulnerable populations such as people living with complex chronic illness, trauma, or other conditions where the body has kept the score.
I invite you to notice what comes up for you as you reflect on this and as you sit with the sensations in your body when you consider setting intentions for your most audacious and bold desires. During this Aries New Moon energy, you may receive sudden clarity or amplified intuitive abilities to guide your next steps with courage and grace.
Final Thoughts
As this New Moon opens a new doorway, you don’t have to become someone new, only return to a more authentic version of who you’ve always been. Let this be a slow, honest coming home to yourself at the pace your nervous system allows. If it feels supportive and accessible to you, I invite you to take a few quiet moments to sit with your body, your breath, your truth and notice what’s ready to begin again. If you’d like guidance. I would be honored to walk beside you.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What does the Aries New Moon represent spiritually and energetically?
The Aries New Moon represents a gentle yet powerful energetic reset, a return to your inner truth and authentic self. Spiritually, it invites new beginnings rooted in honesty, courage, and self-leadership. Energetically, it can bring activation in the body, awakening intuition and a desire for aligned action. Rather than rushing forward, it’s an invitation to move slowly, listen inward, and begin again in a way that honors your nervous system, your timing, and your capacity.
2. How can I work with this New Moon if I feel overwhelmed or low energy?
If you’re feeling overwhelmed or low energy, this New Moon doesn’t require you to push or take big action. You might meet yourself where you are and begin more gently. Even resting, pausing, or noticing your breath can be enough. Your body’s capacity matters and this is a time to listen inward, not override what you’re feeling.
Small, honest steps taken at your own pace are still meaningful beginnings. You don’t have to do more or push through, to begin again.
3. How can I tell if my intuition is guiding me?
Your intuition often feels quiet, steady, and neutral, even when what it’s guiding you toward feels big. It doesn’t rush or pressure you. You might notice a soft sense of knowing in your body, a subtle expansion, or a grounded clarity that returns when you slow down. Fear, on the other hand, tends to feel urgent or loud. If you feel safe enough to do so, you might pause, listen inward, and notice what feels calm, true, and gently persistent within you.
4. How can I support my nervous system during this time?
You might support your nervous system right now by keeping things simple and gentle. Instead of pushing yourself to do more, you could slow down and check in with what your body actually needs, maybe that’s rest, quiet, or a moment to breathe. Even small things, like stepping outside or pausing between tasks, can help. There’s nothing you need to force. Your body has its own rhythm, and it’s important to continue practicing attuning to this inner rhythm. As you continue to practice checking in with yourself in this way, it will become easier to naturally live by its guidance and your own authentic and fluctuating capacity.
